This term we are looking at 'The Earth - Things Beyond our Control'.  This will include first of all THE WEATHER.  Also we will look at EARTHQUAKES, VOLCANOS, TIDAL WAVES,  TORNADOS, and HURRICANES.

Your task is to research these phenomena using the Internet and Encarta Encyclopedia.  You must present your findings as  a Powerpoint Slideshow  for publication on the school's intranet.  An oral presentation, given at the end of the unit, will accompany the slides.

This is a 9 week unit.  Some suggested sites are given, however students may need to research alternative sites and sources for a comprehensive understanding of the topics.

Criteria for assessment is as follows:

    * Research (adequate and accurate coverage of topic) 40%;

    * Visual presentation (use of graphics, colour, balanced
            content on page, readable text) 25%;

    * Oral presentation (clarity of speech, volume, balanced
            input from team members) 25%

    * Spelling and punctuation 10%.

Slides must show evidence of research which answers the following questions or covers the following sub-topics.
