24-Point Star: WHAT ARE LEARNING OBJECTS?
Because they are small, self contained and interactive, online learning objects can be combined, re-used, sequenced or even in many cases, pulled apart, to serve the needs of teachers and students. Unlike curriculum software which often tries to “teach” students and will attempt to provide a rich, meaningful context, learning object design usually assumes that teachers know their students best and are the best ones to provide that rich context – learning objects are used by teachers as building blocks, stepping stones, or levers to learning.

They’re here!  Fantastic Learning Objects, loaded on the Intranet at Beenleigh State School.  You can find these Learning Objects at the following sites.
